Subconscious Language Learning



Learning the English language can be a pleasant and rewarding experience if you keep in mind a few important facts. The English language is formed using the Roman Alphabet. the Roman alphabet is made up of 26 letters. Twenty one of these letters are consonants and five are vowels. English words are made up of combinations of these consonants and vowels. Phrases and sentences are made up of words, and punctuation. A system of nouns, pro-nouns, verbs, adverbs, helping verbs, and adjectives are used to fluently speak and write the English language. A noun is a person, place, or thing, While a verb is an action word. Helping verbs such as; be, am, are, is, was, were, been, are used to describe the type of action.Punctuation is used to indicate whether the sentences are statements, questions, and expressions.
I have written the following to give the reader a common sense practical approach to learning English. I am not a linguist or a teacher, so these are only guidelines, and i leave it up to the reader to use my advice merely as a tool in their quest to learn English. from what i can tell the biggest roadblock to learning English, is FEAR. Many people when faced with learning English, are afraid of many things, and this hinders their ability to successfully learn the English language. here are a few key fears that individuals face when learning the English language:

*fear of sounding funny
*fear of saying things wrong
*fear of failure

If any of these fears sound familiar to you let me offer this: Don't be afraid. the key to successfully learning the English language is repetition. being successful means choosing a small word, practicing it over and over, until you can say it comfortably, then you have a successfully accomplished you small goal of learning a word. Then all you have to do is repeat the process with another word, then a phrase, then a sentence, and finally a paragraph and conversation. Here are some helpful things you can do to encourage yourself to keep learning English.

1- Find and us as many resources as possible, the Internet and your public library are great starting points.
2- Immerse yourself in the English language. The more you hear it, read it and write it, the quicker and easier it will become to learn and remember it.
3- Listen to the radio
4- Watch television
5- Test you understanding with other people, this will also help you to overcome your fear.
